The Hyundai i20 N Shadow Edition has been revealed as the last iteration of the present-generation hot hatch, with a limited allocation of 100 vehicles now open for orders.

Production of the i20 N concluded in March 2026, prompting Hyundai Australia to arrange appropriate farewells for both this model and the larger i30 Hatch N ahead of their departure from local dealerships.

The Shadow Edition allows Hyundai to conclude the i20 N story, which competes against the Volkswagen Polo GTI, in memorable fashion.

Buyers can select from two hues, with Atlas White examples listed at $41,500 before on-road costs and Phantom Black versions at $42,095 before on-road costs, against the standard i20 N price of $38,500.

Hyundai Australia confirmed that the 100 units destined for Australia are allocated 80 to 20 in favor of Phantom Black.

Each car receives individual numbering under the Shadow Edition package, which includes 18-inch alloy wheels fitted with Pirelli tires finished in matte bronze and paired with contrasting black wheel nuts.

Bronze metallic highlights appear on the door decals and the plaque mounted on the center console of all 100 examples.

Additional features include an N steering wheel wrapped in Alcantara with blue stitching and a center marker, an Alcantara gear knob, and floor mats displaying a Pirelli tire-tread motif.

Mechanical specifications remain unchanged, retaining the 150kW/275Nm 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission.

Remaining inventory of the current i20 N is projected to continue through the end of 2026, while Hyundai Australia has secured sufficient i30 Hatch N stock to extend into the following year.

A comparable special edition of the i30 Hatch N is anticipated in showrooms later this year, though no formal details have been released.

Hyundai Australia's local product development manager, Tim Rodgers, also suggested the i20 N could return to the range in the future.

Hyundai introduced a fourth-generation i20 in Brazil earlier this week, featuring a modestly extended and raised body with SUV-like design cues built on the same platform as the Hyundai Kona small SUV already available locally.

The company has not yet confirmed the new i20 for additional markets, including Europe, from where Hyundai currently supplies both the Australian-market i20 N and i30 N.
