The Honda Super-One electric city hatch will reportedly start from $38,900 drive-away based on an online claim that gained access to the Honda Australia configurator in preview mode.

Reddit user Capt_SloMo shared images of the Honda Australia website configurator featuring the Super-One, a compact electric hatch positioned against the Hyundai Inster and BYD Atto 1. Honda Australia has not yet disclosed local pricing or specifications.

Scheduled for Australian showrooms in the second half of 2026, the images display the Super-One in one model grade starting at $38,900 drive-away.

In standard Mono Tone paint the configurator listed items such as Magic Seats, adaptive cruise control, a Boost mode and a Bose sound system.

The images indicate the Super-One will come in Mono Grey, Crystal Black and Boost Violet exterior colors.

A Two Tone option appeared as well, offered only with Boost Violet for an extra $500, raising the drive-away price to $39,400.

If correct this would place the Honda well above the BYD Atto 1, currently Australia's lowest-priced electric vehicle, which begins at $23,990 and $27,990 before on-road costs depending on the variant.

Even so it would sit below the Hyundai Inster, which opens at $39,000 before on-road costs.

Honda Australia declined to comment on the pricing or verify whether the images originated from its website configurator.

A link posted on Reddit to the Super-One configurator now asks for a password.

Whether the leaked pricing holds true is still unknown. Pricing shown for other Honda models in the images aligns with current Australian list prices, though this could simply indicate a test version of the site.

It is also possible Honda used placeholder pricing while testing the configurator ahead of its official launch.

In Japan, where Super-One sales started in May 2026, the electric hatch begins at ¥3,390,200. A direct currency conversion puts that at roughly A$29,600.

For context the Honda Prelude arrived earlier this year priced from ¥6,179,800 (about $53,997) in Japan and $65,000 drive-away in Australia.

Likewise the Honda CR-V hybrid opens from ¥5,122,700 (about $44,761) in Japan and $49,900 drive-away in Australia.

This suggests the Super-One could reasonably land somewhere between about $35,000 and the leaked $38,900 drive-away figure when it reaches Australian showrooms.

The Super-One will mark Honda's first EV in Australia and arrives as electric vehicles keep gaining ground, making up almost one in four new-vehicle sales in June 2026.

Honda Australia has not yet confirmed further EVs beyond the Super-One, although it has noted it is assessing the 0 Series Alpha, a small electric SUV due in India by early 2027 and positioned against the Suzuki e Vitara.
