July 4, 2026 — General Motors is recalling 2026-2027 Cadillac Vistiq vehicles due to concerns with the third-row power seatbacks.

GM indicates that when the power fold feature engages, the third-row power seatback might not reverse direction if it contacts an occupant.

Roughly 16,000 vehicles are affected following tests GM conducted after another manufacturer reported similar seatback issues.

"During the evaluation, the seatback continued its power-folding operation with a 33- to 40-pound box on the seat and stopped in a position that prevented the box from being removed without manually reversing the seat back." - GM

General Motors has received six owner complaints so far, though no injuries have been reported.

Around 1,451 of these Cadillacs are part of the recall in Canada.

Dealers will disable the third-row folding features until replacement seat modules become available. Owners should receive Cadillac Vistiq recall notification letters by August 3, 2026.
