More than 4,400 Ford F-150 trucks should have been repaired 9 years ago.

June 14, 2026 - Ford has issued a new recall covering 2017 F-150 trucks that were meant to be fixed years earlier.

Nearly a decade after the original campaign, the company discovered that previous repairs were incomplete, allowing the initial instrument panel issues to persist on those vehicles.

More than 4,400 Ford F-150 trucks face recall because their instrument panel clusters can lose power when temperatures drop.

The failure happens right after engine start in cold conditions, as the power supply in the eight-inch cluster screen struggles to hold proper electrical output.

Ford reports no known crashes or injuries tied to these instrument panel problems.

According to Ford:

"The transmission shift position indicator located in the instrument panel cluster may not illuminate and display the selected transmission gear position. Increasing the risk of injury or crash from unintended vehicle movement. In addition, an inoperative instrument panel cluster display may prevent activation of certain warning chimes, messages, and warning lights."

Engineers noted that the loss of cluster function can last anywhere from two seconds to several minutes.

Recall letters for the Ford F-150 instrument panel cluster will go out between July 6 and July 10, 2026, after which dealers will install updated cluster software.
