Ford Australia has boosted its promotions on the Ranger pickup truck and Everest SUV, delivering an additional $1000 discount for buyers of outgoing MY26 models - while providing a $4000 fuel card on incoming MY26.5 vehicles ahead of their showroom debut.

The Ranger and Everest represent Ford Australia's key sales drivers, making up nearly 90 percent of its total volume in 2025 - and 22,922 out of 25,920 units (88.4 percent) year-to-date.

The company skipped a formal press release on the expanded incentives, even though it publicized the original $4000 fuel card deal on April 1 - right as fuel prices hit record highs for drivers.

Diesel costs rose sharply, topping $3.50 per litre in certain regions, hitting the Ranger hard since all variants run on diesel except the top Raptor and plug-in Hybrid options.

The Ford Everest exclusively uses diesel powertrains and shares the Ranger's 80-litre tank - equating to $200.96 at the national average of 251.2c/L for the week ending May 10, 2026, per the Australian Institute of Petroleum.

"It is no secret that the entire automotive industry is navigating a complex economic environment with rising cost-of-living pressures," a Ford Australia spokesperson told CarExpert regarding the initial promotion.

"While foot traffic fluctuates with market conditions, our focus is on remaining proactive.

"These offers are designed to give customers who are currently on the fence the confidence to move forward with a purchase, knowing they are getting a best-in-market vehicle with an added buffer against operating costs."

The original $4000 fuel card - redeemable as cash instead - covered MY26 Ranger XLT models including cab-chassis and pickup body styles, plus Sport and Wildtrak grades with either the 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo four-cylinder or 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel.

The base MY26 Everest Trend qualified too.

In April 2026, Ford moved 3661 Rangers - down from 4031 the prior April - allowing the Toyota RAV4 to claim the top sales position with 3791 registrations.

Everest volume dipped as well, to 1585 from 2234 year-on-year.

In response, Ford upped the deal to $5000 and broadened it to the MY26 Everest Ambiente Bi-Turbo, plus V6-equipped Sport, Tremor, and Platinum trims.

Discounts have now kicked off for the refreshed MY26.5 Ranger via a $4000 fuel card, preceding the media launch and initial deliveries this month.

This covers the MY26.5 Ranger XL double-cab pickup and Black Edition with Bi-Turbo power, alongside V6 Ranger XLT cab-chassis, XLT double-cab pickup, Black Edition, Wolftrak, and Wildtrak.

The MY26.5 Ranger drops the 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo, introducing a single-turbo 2.0-litre diesel as the base engine, with drive-away pricing from $45,600 plus on-roads.

Ranger Hybrid variants exclude the fuel card but already carry heavy discounts, slashing over $10,000 off the entry MY26 Ranger Hybrid XLT now at $62,000 drive-away.

No official MY26.5 updates have been revealed for the Ranger Hybrid range by Ford Australia.

"Our promotional calendar is planned well in advance, however, we pride ourselves on being agile," a spokesperson shared with CarExpert.

"While we always intended to support sales with retail offers in Q2 [April-June], we specifically tailored the $4000 fuel card incentive to directly address the primary concern we are hearing from Australians today: the rising cost of energy.
