Australian BYD dealerships might soon stock a fresh model resembling a Denza-branded large off-road SUV, though it lacks comparable off-road prowess.

CarExpert has learned that the Fangchengbao Ti7 is headed to Australia, potentially marketed as a BYD - even as the Fangchengbao B5 and B8 appear here via the upscale Denza lineup.

The Ti7 debuted as a BYD at last year’s Bangkok Motor Expo and has launched in Kuwait while being previewed in the UK under the BYD name.

BYD registered the Ti7 trademark in Australia back in December 2025, alongside Ti9 - a name not yet linked to any model. This does not rule out a Denza version.

Unlike the body-on-frame B5 and B8 SUVs in Denza stores, the Ti7 employs a more car-like monocoque structure.

It belongs to Fangchengbao’s 'Titanium' SUV lineup, positioned above the compact Ti3, and debuted last year as a plug-in hybrid (PHEV, like the B5 and B8), with an electric (EV) variant arriving this year.

Whether BYD Australia will introduce the Ti7 with PHEV, EV, or both powertrains remains uncertain.

BYD Australia confirmed to CarExpert in February that it is conducting local tuning for an off-road SUV featuring plug-in hybrid or extended-range electric (EREV) power - signaling the Ti7’s imminent debut with Australia-specific chassis adjustments.

The Ti7 spans 4999mm in length, 1995mm in width, and 1865mm in height, riding on a 2920mm wheelbase - bigger than the boxy Hyundai Santa Fe, yet without third-row seating.

Unlike BYD Australia’s current top SUV, the seven-seat Sealion 8, the Ti7 accommodates just five passengers.

Every Ti7 model includes independent four-wheel suspension, with double-wishbone up front and five-link at the rear.

PHEV models pair a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine (115kW/225Nm) with either a single front electric motor (200kW/315Nm for front-drive) or dual motors (160kW/260Nm front, 200kW/360Nm rear for all-wheel drive).

Battery options are 26.6kWh or 35.6kWh, delivering 135-200km of CLTC electric range by variant, with DC fast-charging up to 72kW.

The EV Ti7 comes in rear- or all-wheel drive, supporting BYD’s ultra-fast charging - a 10-70 percent DC top-up in as little as five minutes.

The rear-drive EV packs a 300kW/365Nm motor, claiming 675km CLTC range on a 92kWh pack or 755km on 105.7kWh.

The all-wheel-drive EV adds a 215kW/310Nm front motor for 675km range, boosting acceleration to cut 0-100km/h from 7.3-7.5 seconds to 4.5 seconds.

All Ti7s boast a 15.6-inch infotainment screen, 10.25-inch digital cluster, and 26-inch head-up display.

Standard kit spans the range: panoramic sunroof with powered shade, leather seats, heated/ventilated power front seats, heated leather steering wheel, and wireless charger.

A comprehensive active safety package via DiPilot 100 (or DiPilot 300 with LiDAR on some) includes cross-traffic alerts front and rear, blind-spot monitoring, exit warnings, adaptive cruise, and 360-degree cameras.

In China, the Ti7 has thrived, with 57,197 units sold through April per PC Auto data - outpacing all other Fangchengbao models combined and ranking among the nation’s top 20 sellers this year.
