Bugatti is directing attention toward the upcoming V16-powered Tourbillon, yet the firm continues to celebrate its earlier creations. Revisiting past models can prove profitable, since it allows the manufacturer to generate revenue from the same vehicle at initial delivery and again during a later full restoration.

Bugatti has returned a distinctive Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse to factory condition, granting the one-of-one roadster renewed vitality. Clad in bare polished aluminum with a contrasting red leather interior, the hypercar serves as a striking visual statement. Identified by chassis number 8.100, this quad-turbo W16 model ranks among the most unusual Veyrons produced.

Rather than applying standard paint, Bugatti selected polished aluminum as the primary design element. The resulting mirror-like surface accentuates the roadster's sculpted lines while leaving the metal exposed. The company notes that realizing this body required shipping aluminum blocks weighing as much as 20 tons to its Molsheim headquarters in France.

A Striking and Unconventional Veyron Appearance

The exterior pairs with Carmine Red leather upholstery, while exposed carbon fiber and hand-finished details provide additional visual contrast. Bugatti explains that the project began with thorough design studies examining proportions, surfaces, and light interaction. After finalizing the concept, the car entered the Molsheim atelier where specialists executed the ambitious finish. Every stage of construction was documented to maintain a complete historical record.

More than a decade after its debut, chassis 8.100 returned to Molsheim through La Maison Pur Sang, Bugatti's certification, restoration, and heritage initiative. The team performed a full certification review together with refurbishment and reconfiguration tasks to restore the original vision while retaining authenticity. This process included removal of later personalization items.

Bugatti states the Veyron has now earned La Maison Pur Sang certification and entered a new owner's collection on the French Riviera. The program supports collectors by confirming provenance, verifying authenticity, and restoring vehicles to intended specifications when required.

Formula One Driver Fernando Alonso Observed With The Distinctive Veyron

Although the owner's identity is not officially confirmed, it is commonly understood that Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso has been seen operating the conspicuous Veyron on the narrow streets of Monaco. The two-time world champion maintains a well-known interest in exotic cars, making the sighting of the 45-year-old Spaniard behind the wheel of this extraordinary machine unsurprising.

The Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse once held the title of fastest open-top production car, achieving 408.84 km/h (254 mph) in 2013. Bugatti later transferred that distinction to the Chiron-based Mistral, which reached 453.91 km/h (282 mph) in 2024. The achievement underscores the company's ongoing commitment to preserving its earlier masterpieces.

Through repeated factory restorations and rediscoveries of rare examples, Bugatti keeps the Veyron in public view well beyond its original production run of 450 units. These projects do not increase production totals, yet they sustain interest in the model more than two decades after its introduction.

La Maison Pur Sang Returns Bugattis To Factory Condition

Such efforts maintain the Veyron's relevance long after its debut. In time the Chiron will also reach an age suitable for similar in-house restorations, expanding the pool of vehicles available to La Maison Pur Sang. Production of the Chiron was limited to 500 units, fifty more than the Veyron, while the forthcoming Tourbillon is capped at 250 examples and sold out prior to the start of manufacturing.
