BMW has started delivering the ultra-exclusive Skytop, one of the rarest models in its current range. One of the 50 units has already arrived with its owner through a private process. The handover happened inside the secluded Exclusive Privacy Room at BMW Welt, separate from the standard public delivery space.

Originally shown as a concept at the 2024 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, the car moved into production after strong interest from select buyers. BMW approved a run limited to just 50 examples. While it shares the M8 platform underneath, the Skytop boasts an entirely new design. This two-door convertible includes a manually removable targa-style roof made from two leather-wrapped panels.

The delivery experience matches the car’s exclusivity. BMW’s premium package provides chauffeur transfers, a private presentation, factory tours, a museum visit and a four-course meal. The Exclusive Privacy Room upgrade offers a dedicated 90-minute session with the vehicle, including a recorded ceremony.

BMW has not released official pricing, though estimates place it near $580,000.

BMW is also developing the M8-based Speedtop as another limited model with about 70 units planned worldwide. Production is expected to start by the end of this year, with deliveries scheduled for 2027.
