Toyota continues expanding its Trailhunter lineup. Following the trim's debut on the Tacoma and 4Runner, the brand now brings the overlanding-focused package to the full-size Tundra for 2027.

The Trailhunter builds on the Tundra SR5 with numerous off-road enhancements. It receives a raised Old Man Emu suspension, Michelin LTX Trail tires on unique 18-inch bronze wheels, steel front recovery hooks, extra skid plates, a locking rear differential, and Multi-Terrain Select for improved grip on varied surfaces.

Distinctive badging, special wheels, and rugged design elements set the Trailhunter apart while complementing the Tundra's refreshed front end for 2027.

The powertrain remains unconfirmed, yet the Trailhunter's SR5 base indicates it will use the standard twin-turbo 3.4-liter V6 rather than the I-Force Max hybrid. The SR5 produces 389 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque.

The Trailhunter arrives with a wider update to the 2027 Tundra. All models now include a 14.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with Toyota's newest multimedia system and built-in AT&T 5G connectivity. A Driver Recorder dash camera comes standard as well.

Toyota also improves the available grille-mounted LED light bar and adds optional Rigid fog lights for enhanced nighttime visibility.
