The fifth-generation 2027 Audi A6 allroad receives official confirmation for Australia, marking the debut of a plug-in hybrid variant in the lineup.

This marks the initial model from the current A6 range slated for local sale, with entry pricing set at $127,900 excluding on-road fees. Audi Australia describes it as the most fully optioned A6 allroad yet, scheduled to land in the first half of 2027.

The figure sits just $1500 above the prior diesel-only version last offered in 2024, while delivering an extra $10,000 in standard features compared with that predecessor.

The entry price covers the e-hybrid quattro 270kW model, pairing a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol unit with an electric motor and 25.9kWh battery. The comparable TDI quattro 220kW carries a $10,000 premium, listed at $137,900 before on-road costs.

The A6 allroad range includes a comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems as standard, covering adaptive cruise assist and active lane assist for semi-autonomous highway travel, plus autonomous emergency braking, front cross-traffic assist and front/rear turn assist.

Side assist integrates blind-spot and rear cross-traffic aids with exit warning, while additional safety items encompass lane departure warning, emergency assist, proactive occupant protection and speed sign recognition. Nine airbags come standard, including a front-centre unit, along with tyre pressure monitoring.

Optional upgrades include the Premium package at $9900, which brings digital Matrix LED headlights, digital OLED tail lights with switchable signatures, power-latching doors, a heated steering wheel, heated outer rear seats, an electrically adjustable steering column, manual rear sun blinds and advanced parking functions.

Buyers may also add the Customised contour seats package for $500, supplying Nappa leather in black or Nutmeg brown, contrast stitching, pneumatic front seat and backrest bolsters, electric thigh support, front passenger memory settings and extra interior trim details.

Powertrain options comprise the A6 allroad e-hybrid quattro, combining the 2.0-litre TFSI turbo four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor and 25.9kWh battery (20.7kWh usable) to deliver 270kW and 500Nm combined.

The high-voltage battery supports up to 87km of electric range and accepts AC charging at a maximum of 11kW.

The A6 allroad TDI quattro employs a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel producing 220kW and 580Nm. Although not a plug-in hybrid, it incorporates 48V mild-hybrid plus technology with an electrically powered compressor to cut turbo lag and enable electric-only running at low speeds.

Both drivetrains send power to all wheels through a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch automatic, with the e-hybrid quattro ultra system allowing on-demand decoupling of the rear axle to lower friction and improve efficiency.

First shown in June, the latest A6 allroad adopts a distinctive widebody design versus the standard A6 Sedan and Avant models sold overseas, hinting at the forthcoming RS6 Avant performance flagship.

Dimensions reach 5016mm in length, 1986mm in width and up to 1508mm in height, representing gains of 65mm, 84mm and 6mm over the previous-generation A6 allroad sold locally in 2024. Ground clearance rises 34mm above the regular A6 Avant and 16mm above its predecessor.

Standard air suspension delivers 55mm of ride-height adjustment, with offroad and offroad+ modes lifting the vehicle an additional 15mm while tuning the dampers accordingly. A lift function adds a further 20mm of clearance at speeds up to 35km/h, and above 85km/h the car lowers to its minimum height.

The rear-wheel steering system turns the rear wheels up to 5.0 degrees opposite the fronts at speeds up to 60km/h, then up to 2.0 degrees in the same direction above that threshold.
