The Subaru Uncharted electric SUV will reach Australian dealerships shortly and stands out as the smallest and most affordable electric model from the brand so far.

With a starting price of $59,990 before on-road costs, the Uncharted sits beneath the Solterra mid-size SUV, which received a recent price adjustment and now begins at $61,990 before on-roads.

Alongside the Solterra and Trailseeker, the Uncharted completes Subaru's Sport Electric Vehicle lineup. Each model shares technology with Toyota electric vehicles, and the Uncharted draws from the C-HR+ small electric SUV scheduled for Australia in mid-2027.

Key competitors in the compact electric SUV segment include the BYD Atto 3, Hyundai Kona Electric, and Kia EV3, though the Uncharted offers a bit more size and aligns in price with their higher trim levels.

Australian versions of the Uncharted come equipped with a 74.7kWh lithium-ion battery from CATL, delivering a WLTP-rated range of 522km. The battery supports DC fast charging up to 150kW, allowing a 10-80 per cent charge in about 30 minutes.

While a front-wheel drive variant exists at a lower price in the US market, Australian models will feature dual-motor all-wheel drive exclusively, consistent with most Subaru vehicles sold locally aside from the rear-drive BRZ. The system retains the Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive branding.
