One dead, four injured in Ramle shooting, police rule incident as criminal

A woman in her 30s was fatally shot, and four others wounded, in a violent incident in Ramle on Monday morning, Israel Police reported. The suspect, linked to some of the victims by family ties, is now in custody.

Magen David Adom (MDA) teams rushed the woman to Shamir Medical Center in Tzrifin while performing CPR amid her critical state, but she succumbed to her injuries there.

Two more women received evacuation to the same facility: one in her 50s listed in serious condition, the other in her 30s with moderate-to-serious injuries.

Shrapnel caused light wounds to a fourth woman. Updates on the fifth injured person's condition are not yet available.

KAN News detailed that the confrontation ignited within the shooter's household. As the initial target tried to escape, the attacker unleashed a barrage of gunfire near the nearby market, striking the additional victims.

Incident ruled as criminal

Israel Police spokesman Deputy Chief Arieh Doron shared with KAN: "We are probing whether this stemmed from criminal origins before possibly turning terror-like."

Soon after, at the site, Police Commissioner Danny Levi clarified the motive as purely criminal.

"Reports flooded in about casualties from a brutal clash," recounted MDA paramedic Ofir Shish alongside EMTs Abd Issawi, Nur Hasuna, and Moshe Kot. "Our extensive team reached the location fast, finding victims with penetrating gunshot trauma. We delivered on-site care and rushed them to medical facilities."
