The United States on Monday unveiled sanctions against three individuals and nine companies - including four in Hong Kong, four in the United Arab Emirates, and one in Oman - for facilitating Iran's oil deliveries to China.

This Treasury Department action comes on the heels of Friday's penalties against entities involved in Iran's acquisitions of weapons and parts for drones and ballistic missiles.

The measures precede a scheduled meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, during which Trump plans to urge Xi to assist in easing tensions with Iran and restoring access to the vital Strait of Hormuz.

The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) designations focus on networks that assist Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in marketing and transporting its oil quota to China using a web of front companies.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent emphasized that the Trump administration will persist with sanctions to starve the Iranian regime and its military of funds for armaments, its nuclear ambitions, and backing regional proxies.

"Treasury will continue to sever the Iranian regime from the financial channels it exploits for terrorism and to undermine global economic stability," Bessent stated.

$15 Million Reward Offered for Information on IRGC Financial Disruptions

Simultaneously, the State Department introduced a reward of up to $15 million for tips that lead to dismantling the financial systems of the IRGC - labeled a terrorist group by Washington - and its affiliates.

According to Treasury, the IRGC depends on shell companies to manage payments for its oil exports. Monday's sanctions expand on those levied in July 2025 against Golden Globe, a Turkish firm accused of processing hundreds of millions in annual IRGC oil transactions.

The three sanctioned individuals are affiliated with the IRGC's Shahid Purja'fari oil headquarters and oversee payments routed through Golden Globe, Treasury noted.
