The US-Iran technical discussions in Switzerland wrapped up on a successful note, paving the way for both parties to advance to higher-level negotiations, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi declared on Tuesday.

The upcoming phase of discussions will be led mainly by top officials from each side, such as Iran's Parliamentary Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, and US Vice President JD Vance.

The end of the initial round was first declared in a joint statement issued Monday morning by mediators Qatar and Pakistan.

The two mediating nations described the talks as occurring in a positive and constructive setting, even though the Iranian side exited the sessions Sunday night to protest US President Donald Trump's warnings about resuming strikes if the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened.

On Tuesday, the Iranian Ambassador informed the United Nations in Geneva that some solid advancements had occurred in the US-Iran negotiations held in Switzerland.

The ambassador further noted that Lebanon forms a key element of the MOU peace agreement, stressing there must be no additional strikes on Lebanon and that the deal calls for Israeli forces to withdraw.
