Donald Trump has issued a warning to intensify American military actions against Iran starting next week, focusing on power facilities and bridges unless Tehran consents to an agreement in the ongoing conflict regarding the strait of Hormuz.

In a Tuesday interview with Fox News, the US president stated: “Next week it gets really bad for them because next week comes the power plants. Next week comes the bridges. We’re going to knock out all their power plants. We’re going to knock out all their bridges unless they get to the table and negotiate.”

He had issued comparable warnings in March, threatening to destroy Iran’s power stations and water treatment plants if the country failed to accept peace conditions promptly. Such actions against civilian infrastructure would violate international humanitarian law and could amount to war crimes.

These remarks followed four consecutive days of US strikes on Iran and the reinstatement of a naval blockade on Iranian ports in the strait of Hormuz.

US Central Command indicated the strikes aimed to reduce Iranian abilities to assault commercial vessels in the strait, a vital route for oil and gas shipments from the Gulf, where Iran has targeted civilian ships multiple times.

Iranian media outlets reported blasts near Bandar Abbas, on Qeshm island, and additional sites.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard responded by claiming strikes on US Fifth Fleet facilities in Bahrain, including command centers, supply lines, fuel depots, and military gear.

Attacks affected Bahrain and Kuwait, while Jordan reported intercepting three missiles in its airspace.

Iranian news also mentioned a drone strike on a Jordanian base used by US aircraft.

The IRGC cautioned that blocking oil exports could lead to closure of other routes, stating energy exports would benefit all or none.

Ongoing exchanges of strikes risk escalating into full-scale regional war.

Trump withdrew an earlier proposal for a 20% transit fee on ships, opting instead for trade agreements with Gulf nations after discussions with regional leaders. He emphasized continued port blockades.

Hopes for lasting peace after the June 17 ceasefire are fading, with Iranian officials noting the blockade undermines prior agreements.

When questioned about the duration of strikes, Trump indicated they would persist until he deems them sufficient, reiterating threats to infrastructure unless negotiations begin.
