Indictments were filed Friday in the Haifa Magistrate's Court against a man and a woman accused of operating a human trafficking network across Haifa and Kiryat Shmona.

The charges capped a year-long undercover investigation that started in July 2025 after authorities grew suspicious that the suspects were using social media to recruit victims.

Investigators determined that the pair lured targets with offers of office work, supplied housing and modest allowances, then posted their images online and used threats to force them into sexual services.

Victims included women of different ages, some disabled, others facing mental health struggles or financial hardship.

Multiple suspects in trafficking ring arrested in June

Several individuals, including the primary suspects, were detained on June 7 on counts of human trafficking, aggravated pimping, and extortion by threats.

Following the arrests, the main suspects remained in custody until the indictments were submitted.

In a statement, Israel Police said it will keep pursuing cases of human trafficking and exploitation of vulnerable groups, vowing to hold offenders accountable and safeguard victims.
