Iran's military has warned of a response to Israel following strikes in southern Lebanon that killed four people, even as Tehran and Washington reached an agreement to conclude the regional war, including operations in Lebanon.

Lebanon's National News Agency reported that Israeli warplanes struck the southern town of Nabatieh al-Fawqa, while a drone attack hit Ansariyeh along the coast this morning. The Israel Defense Forces have not yet commented on these reports.

The IDF stated yesterday that it intercepted several rockets fired by Hezbollah at its forces in southern Lebanon and destroyed the launcher in a counter-strike.

Hezbollah has made no recent claims of attacks on Israeli positions in the area. Its leader, Naim Qassem, is scheduled to deliver a televised address later today, according to the group's Al-Manar TV.

Iran's central military command, Khatam al-Anbiya, insisted that Israel must stop its aggression in the south or face a harsh response. It accused Israel of violating the Lebanon ceasefire 84 times since the agreement was announced.

Iran's foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, emphasized that any peace deal with the US requires Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon. Without such a pullback from occupied territories, he said, the war cannot be considered fully over.

Concerns are rising that Israel may undermine diplomatic efforts to end the conflict, as Donald Trump has criticized his ally for acting irresponsibly. Trump noted that Israel has fought Hezbollah for too long with excessive casualties and said there is no need to destroy apartment buildings when targeting individuals, as many residents are not affiliated with the group.

A US-Iran deal to end the Middle East war is set to be signed at Switzerland's Burgenstock resort on Friday, the Swiss foreign ministry confirmed. The secure mountainside location near Lucerne was suggested by Pakistani and Qatari mediators along with the US and Iran.
Two months of final negotiations will start right after the initial signing. These talks will run for a 60-day period and address the lifting of sanctions as well as Iran's nuclear programme.
Trump indicated he would forward the Iran deal to Congress for review. He expressed confidence in its approval during a meeting with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the G7 summit.
At the G7, Trump stated that the Strait of Hormuz will reopen by Friday and that the full text of the peace deal will be released formally. He expects the second stage of negotiations to proceed rapidly.
The US will permit Iran to resume oil and fuel sales immediately under the deal, according to the Wall Street Journal. Sales remain conditional on compliance, including free navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and no pursuit of nuclear weapons.
An Iranian deputy foreign minister confirmed that the US naval blockade on Iranian ports has already been lifted ahead of Friday's signing ceremony, fulfilling a key Iranian condition.
Qatar expressed cautious optimism that the agreement will bring regional security, praising the mediation roles of Pakistan and itself as talks advance on nuclear and other issues.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney described the US-Iran memorandum as a gamechanger that could also influence approaches to other conflicts such as Ukraine. He noted that the deal exceeds expectations by laying groundwork to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
