Regional Praise: Middle East and Gulf States Welcome US-Iran Deal

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun highlighted Lebanon's role in the pact and voiced hope that it would bring a lasting halt to regional violence.

Several leaders across the Middle East and Gulf region voiced strong support Sunday night for the agreement reached between the United States and Iran.

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun noted in a Monday statement that he had closely followed the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran, which calls for an end to military actions and escalation throughout the region, including Lebanon.

Aoun expressed appreciation for Lebanon's inclusion and said the Lebanese people hope the understandings will lead to concrete measures that end the cycle of violence and open a new chapter of stability, security, recovery, and rebuilding.

Qatari State Minister Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz al-Khulaifi posted that Qatar welcomes the understanding between the United States and Iran, describing it as a step toward a lasting end to military operations.

He praised Pakistan's role in helping facilitate the process along with backing from regional and international partners.

Qatar remains committed to peace and dialogue as the best way to settle disputes, in keeping with the United Nations Charter and efforts to uphold international peace and security, the minister added.

Kuwait's Foreign Ministry issued a statement welcoming the agreement and urging all sides to approach upcoming talks in a positive and constructive manner aimed at rebuilding ties and promoting neighborliness and mutual respect.

Turkish Foreign Minister Sees Potential for Positive Outcomes

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan spoke by phone with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi on Monday, saying Turkey hopes further discussions with the United States will produce positive results following the deal to stop the fighting, according to a Turkish diplomatic source.

Fidan cautioned against provocations that might undermine the agreement and pledged that Turkey would keep backing regional peace efforts, the source said. Araghchi expressed thanks for Turkey's contributions to the talks.

Iraq also welcomed the US-Iran deal to conclude the conflict, stating it will work to mend relations with nations affected by the fighting.

Omani FM Calls Deal a Win for Diplomacy

Oman's Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi welcomed the agreement, calling it a timely victory for diplomacy and common sense.

The global community should embrace the Iran-US understanding, Albusaidi wrote, adding warm thanks to everyone who helped make it possible.
