Shipping activity through the vital Middle Eastern passages of the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandab showed little variation on Tuesday compared with the prior day, according to vessel tracking information.

Eight ships moved through the Strait of Hormuz, consisting of five tankers and three bulk carriers, matching the count from the day before. Of these, six vessels including three tankers and three bulk carriers headed into the strait, while one gas carrier and one tanker headed out.

Before the conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran that started on February 28, roughly 130 to 140 ships would pass through the route on a typical day.

An LNG tanker operated by Abu Dhabi National Oil Co emerged again outside the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday after loading cargo at Das Island, based on information from LSEG and Kpler.

The vessel named Mubaraz left Das Island in the United Arab Emirates on July 14 with its load and was last tracked inside the strait on July 16. It is now positioned off the western coast of India, with LSEG indicating a planned discharge at the Dahej terminal in Gujarat on August 5.

This marks the third occasion the Mubaraz has carried cargoes from Das Island through the strait since the conflict began, with earlier deliveries going to China and India.

ADNOC did not provide an immediate response to inquiries made outside regular business hours.

Approximately 20 vessels navigate Bab al-Mandab strait

Twenty ships crossed the Bab al-Mandab on Tuesday, split evenly with ten entering and ten exiting, according to Kpler figures that matched the previous day.

Six tankers, three dry bulk carriers and one gas carrier entered the Bab al-Mandab, while seven tankers and three bulk carriers left the area.

Certain vessels may continue to operate with transponders disabled and thus are excluded from these tallies.

Qatar stated on Tuesday that mediators are advancing efforts to conclude the conflict between the United States and Iran, which contributed to lower oil prices, though Tehran rejected assertions by President Donald Trump that discussions have already started.
