The Israeli government is weighing a complete prohibition on drone flights in national airspace because of mounting concerns over a possible Iranian strike on the country, according to N12 News.

Officials discussed the matter during a recent Security Cabinet session, and the defense establishment shared its assessment with all Knesset ministers.

A full ban is under review owing to limited counter-drone defenses nationwide, with worries that any Iranian or Hezbollah assault could feature heavier drone use.

Because drones serve civilian roles such as photography, authorities are examining all choices before reaching a final ruling.

Iranian drones have struck targets across the Middle East in recent weeks as friction between Washington and Tehran intensifies, with reports that US President Donald Trump may expand strikes on the Islamic Republic.

On Wednesday the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated it hit US-linked sites in Bahrain using explosive drones, according to the IRGC-linked Fars News Agency.

The group also claimed an attack on Jordanian air bases the same day.

Iran Reports Tripled Drone Output During US Conflict

On July 11 acting Iranian Defense Minister Brig.-Gen. Majid Ebn al-Reza said the country had tripled drone production, noting in a social media post that technological advances form the core of national defense strength.

Reza added that drone missions had allowed Iran to locate enemy vulnerabilities.

In June the Defense Ministry noted progress against Hezbollah drones from Lebanon, yet officials said interception success remains near 50 percent.

A security official remarked that the figures are not ideal yet represent an improvement, adding that lessons will be applied going forward.

Officials highlighted advances in energy-based systems such as Iron Beam, which they view as more promising for long-term drone defense than traditional interceptors like Iron Dome.
