Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Saturday that security forces had disrupted a terrorist cell it alleged was connected to Israel and the United States and active in Sistan and Baluchistan Province in southeastern Iran.

Per the IRGC statement, one cell member was killed while six additional suspects, encompassing both members and supporters of the group, were taken into custody.

In a release from the public relations office of the Quds Base under the IRGC Ground Forces, officials stated the cell was identified soon after its members arrived in the region, where they planned sabotage and assaults on chosen targets in the southern areas of the province.

The action against the cell involved coordinated efforts by the IRGC, Iran's Intelligence Ministry, and local police in Sistan and Baluchistan. Iranian authorities noted that group members were tracked through extended intelligence surveillance.

One suspect was killed in the operation, and six others were detained prior to executing their intended activities, according to Tehran.

Iranian security forces reported seizing 20 packages of explosives along with materials for assembling explosive devices during searches. They also recovered small and medium caliber weapons, substantial ammunition stocks, and communications gear using the Starlink satellite system.

The IRGC statement asserted the group's links to the Israeli regime and the American terrorist regime, per the Iranian announcement wording. It added that cell members aimed to launch multiple attacks in the province under a US coordinated plan but were stopped beforehand.

The IRGC cautioned those it described as acting for Israel and the United States against further attempts in the area. The statement emphasized that the security of Sistan and Baluchistan residents is a red line, and Iranian forces would block hostile elements from entering or operating in the province.
