Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched an assault on a United States military installation in Kuwait, according to a source with direct knowledge who spoke with this publication on Tuesday.

The operation involved a minimum of three drones, the source noted.

Regional Arab outlets indicated that powerful blasts echoed across Iraq's Basra province, which borders both Iran and Kuwait, as reported by Iran's Tasnim News Agency.

Iranian state broadcaster IRIB stated that a significant blaze erupted in Kuwait on Tuesday morning, drawing from Arab media accounts.

In a distinct event, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations center announced that a cargo vessel suffered damage from an unidentified projectile off Oman's shoreline.

Trump Claims US-Iran Negotiations Set for Monday but Tehran Rejects Assertion

US President Donald Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on Sunday that fresh discussions between Washington and Tehran would commence Monday afternoon.

Trump added that planned military actions against Iran over the weekend were halted after officials from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar contacted him to indicate that an agreement appeared close on both the Strait of Hormuz and Iran's nuclear program.

Nevertheless, The Wall Street Journal reported on Monday that no talks were underway between Iran and the United States and no meetings were scheduled, based on comments from Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei.

Baghaei informed the publication that Iran's negotiating team remained in the country, aside from Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi who was at a religious site in Iraq.
