IDF troops discover Hitler drawings inside private residence in southern Lebanon

The IDF announced Monday that its troops operating in southern Lebanon discovered two drawings of Adolf Hitler inside a private home in the village of Taybeh.

Arabic-language IDF spokesperson Ella Waweya, known as Captain Ella, stated the drawings carried the signature of Hassan Haidar and appeared to come from a broader art collection.

The military suspected the collection had been prepared for a school operating under Hezbollah auspices and described the drawings as evidence of Nazi ideology being promoted in Shiite schools in southern Lebanon.

The IDF supplied no further evidence in the announcement to confirm the artist identity or to prove the collection connection to Hezbollah.

The discovery occurs as a US-brokered ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah broadly holds and Israel begins testing a phased withdrawal from parts of southern Lebanon. Under a US-backed pilot program, the Lebanese Army has begun entering Froun, Srifa and Zawtar al-Gharbiya, with Israel so far withdrawing from Zawtar.

It remains unclear whether the process will lead to wider withdrawals, while Israeli forces continue to hold a security zone several kilometers inside Lebanon.
