The IDF disclosed on Sunday a Hamas document that outlined plans to position explosives within and surrounding camps for displaced civilians in the Gaza Strip, intending to use them as a diversion if leaders needed to leave the areas.

The document, drafted in April 2024, described a scheme that deliberately put civilian lives at risk to protect the terror group's leadership and revealed a willingness to harm Palestinian civilians for small tactical gains such as generating smoke screens, diverting attention, and shifting enemy focus from the main goal.

The approach included detonating improvised explosive devices around civilian camps as IDF troops drew closer to generate panic that terrorists could exploit to flee.

Hamas planned to plant bombs near routes used by Gazan civilians

The document suggested placing bombs along paths taken by Gazan civilians to slow the progress of IDF troops in the region.

In addition, Hamas intended to launch stun grenades into the camps to sow disorder and aid the escape of its operatives.

The IDF stated that this evidence shows the Hamas terrorist organization is prepared to endanger civilian lives in Gaza to further its terrorist operations.
