The Israel Defense Forces carried out precise strikes inside the Dahiyeh district of Beirut after Hezbollah directed fire at Israeli territory, according to a joint announcement from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz on Sunday.

"Israel will not accept any attacks aimed at its sovereign land," the statement read.

The operation focused on a Hezbollah command facility in Dahiyeh that the group had used to plan assaults on Israeli civilians and troops stationed in southern Lebanon, the military stated.

Local reports indicated the site housed Hezbollah's head of communications systems, though damage assessments remain ongoing.

Reporter Barak Ravid noted that the IDF informed CENTCOM of the planned action shortly beforehand.

Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf linked the Dahiyeh strikes to upcoming talks with Washington, posting that the events show "America either lacks the will to fulfill its commitments or the ability to do so."

"If you cannot meet your obligations, further progress on the path becomes impossible," he continued.

Iranian lawmaker Ebrahim Rezaei, military advisor to Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, argued on social media that any agreement with the United States requires first restraining the Israeli government.

"Unless this aggressive actor is contained, it will harm our interests before any accord is finalized," Rezaei stated.

IDF maintains high alertness and readiness in all arenas

IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir stressed that forces remain at elevated readiness across every theater during a briefing with Northern Command leaders.

"The entire military stays focused, vigilant, and active at different levels in every sector. Lebanon remains our primary focus, yet we also prepare for shifts elsewhere," Zamir said.

He added that operations in southern Lebanon continue to weaken Hezbollah's positions there, and improved security conditions will shape upcoming negotiations involving American mediators and Lebanese officials.

From early Sunday, multiple Hezbollah drones crossed into Israeli airspace, triggering sirens throughout northern Israel.

Several Israeli ministers urged stronger action against Hezbollah and Dahiyeh in reply.

Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich pressed Netanyahu to apply the Dahiyeh doctrine firmly by demolishing structures in the area immediately, writing that the government must deliver on its security pledges to northern residents.

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir posted a similar call.

"For every drone, a missile. For every violation, fire. For every drone, Dahiyeh must tremble. For every hair on the head of an IDF soldier, a thousand Hezbollah terrorists," Ben-Gvir wrote. "Against terror, we do not contain, we crush!"

Last week, Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters warned through state media that its recent strikes responded to Israeli moves in Lebanon.

The statement added that further Israeli action in Lebanon would trigger far harsher responses.

US-Iran deal set to be signed on Sunday

US President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that an agreement with Iran is scheduled for signing on Sunday, after which the Strait of Hormuz would open to all traffic.

"The Deal is scheduled to get signed tomorrow, and immediately after it is signed, the Hormuz Strait is OPEN TO ALL," Trump wrote.

He contrasted the new framework with the prior Obama-era accord, which he said had paved an easy path toward Iranian nuclear weapons.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif confirmed Saturday that Washington and Tehran reached the final text of a peace framework to conclude the regional conflict.

Pakistan expects an electronic signing within 24 hours, followed by technical discussions next week, Sharif noted.
