Military works shoulder to shoulder with northern officials, IDF chief Zamir states during review

Zamir highlighted the IDF's ongoing multi-front readiness to handle threats from multiple directions, with continued emphasis on the Lebanon border area.

IDF Chief of the General Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir informed northern officials that the armed forces stand shoulder to shoulder with their communities while reviewing the security conditions in northern Israel on Thursday.

Zamir stressed that the military aims to safeguard northern Israeli communities and heighten pressure on Hezbollah in Lebanon, thereby establishing improved security conditions for the region.

"We share one objective: safeguarding the residents of the north and bringing about enduring peace and security," said Zamir. "We operate together, shoulder to shoulder, to reach that objective."

The IDF Chief noted that Israel sustains a multi-front state of readiness, equipped for dangers from various parts of the region while keeping primary attention on the Israel-Lebanon border.

"The bulk of the IDF's forces and resources are positioned in the northern sector," he said. "Just this week, IDF units worked in the Beaufort Ridge zone, removing major Hezbollah terrorist facilities that had been constructed over many years."

Zamir also reviewed Operation Roaring Lion, pointing out that Israeli military efforts had reduced Iran and its allies to an unprecedented level of weakness, while also causing substantial harm to Hezbollah.

"We moved quickly and firmly to remove the danger of infiltration raids and anti-tank strikes against the northern communities," Zamir said. "This is our approach - there is no tolerance. We proceed with initiative and defensive measures against any developing threat."

He ended by thanking local officers and IDF personnel, noting he understands the challenges they encounter and the costs they bear.

"This is a moment for guidance, resolve, and endurance," said Zamir. "We are involved in an extended campaign, we have secured notable gains, and we maintain the advantage."
