The IDF carried out strikes across southern Lebanon on Monday based on reports from Lebanese media sources though no Israeli officials have verified the operations.

Sirens activated in northern Israel right after the first reports emerged as three projectiles were launched from Lebanon aimed at IDF positions. Several were intercepted before reaching Israeli soil according to the military with one landing close to troops and no injuries reported.

The Hezbollah rockets came less than an hour after Iran indicated it would halt attacks on Israel if the IDF ceased its operations against Iranian targets.

It remains uncertain whether the Hezbollah fighters acted independently without approval from senior leaders or Iran or if they had authorization while expecting continued clashes in southern Lebanon even if strikes on northern Israeli communities might pause.

The Israel Air Force struck Hezbollah's Dahiyeh base in Beirut on Sunday afternoon after the Lebanese militant group disregarded the ceasefire arranged by US President Donald Trump on June 1.

This attack foreshadowed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz represented a measured operation on Beirut intended to heighten pressure on Hezbollah while limiting escalation with Iran over its primary proxy.

Iran Launches Missiles at Northern Israel for First Time Since March Following Beirut Operations

Soon after the Dahiyeh IDF action on Sunday sirens sounded throughout northern Israel due to detection of an Iranian missile launch.

Iran has dispatched three missile barrages since Monday morning totaling between 22 and 24 ballistic missiles toward Israel while the Houthis in Yemen launched two missiles.

One Houthi missile fell short of Israeli territory and the other was intercepted by Israeli air defenses. All Iranian missiles to date have been either intercepted or fallen short.
