Hezbollah Breaks Truce Firing 50 Rockets at IDF Positions Israel Responds with Precision Strikes

The organization earlier declared it had hit Israeli troops in the south and would resist attempts to seize Lebanese land.

The militant group Hezbollah unleashed more than 50 rockets toward IDF positions across southern Lebanon during the overnight hours from Friday into Saturday according to military reports.

Israeli forces countered by striking multiple Hezbollah operatives along with key terror facilities in the region including launch sites weapon depots and operational hubs.

The IDF reaffirmed its adherence to the existing truce while stressing its resolve to neutralize dangers facing Israeli territory and personnel.

Arabic-language IDF spokesperson Col. Ella Waweya noted that stability would return once Hezbollah ends all aggressive moves and agreement breaches and clarified that operations in the security zone target threats and infrastructure without endangering civilians.

Earlier Saturday Hezbollah announced its strikes on IDF soldiers in southern Lebanon and asserted it would confront efforts to seize Lebanese territory while still honoring the ceasefire per Reuters.

A senior Hezbollah figure informed Reuters the group would block Israeli movement through areas it views as occupied Lebanese land.

Lebanon Claims Israel Conducts Brutal Strikes

Lebanese military officials stated Saturday that Israeli assaults seek to block regional stability from returning.

The Lebanese Army posted on X that ongoing Israeli actions clearly aim to hinder solutions restoring calm in Lebanon.

The statement also charged the IDF with attacks throughout Lebanon on Saturday that caused deaths injuries and major damage including the loss of one Lebanese soldier.

Lebanon state news agency NNA reported at least 10 fatalities from Israeli aircraft and drone strikes on several southern sites earlier that day.

Source Confirms Ceasefire Agreement with Hezbollah

An Israeli source verified to The Jerusalem Post on Friday that Israel and Hezbollah reached a ceasefire deal with a senior US official informing Reuters the truce would start at 4 p.m. that afternoon.

The official noted American and Qatari mediators finalized the pact with Iranian assistance.

An IDF spokesperson stated during a Friday press briefing that forces would maintain operations in Lebanon absent new orders.

The spokesperson emphasized that recent developments show IDF troops must stand between Hezbollah and Israeli civilians.
