Firefighters save 25 from Netanya apartment building fire, 13 taken to hospital

Fire and rescue crews pulled twenty-five people from a burning apartment building in Netanya overnight, with thirteen requiring hospital care after the incident. Authorities have opened an investigation into the cause.

Fire and rescue personnel extracted twenty-five trapped residents from a flaming apartment building in Netanya early Thursday morning, the Israel Fire and Rescue Authority confirmed.

Of those rescued, thirteen were transported to hospital for treatment. Ten were listed in mild condition and three, a mother and her children, were listed in satisfactory condition, according to the announcement.

The fire on Macdonald Street in Netanya was reported at 11:34 p.m. to Magen David Adom's Emergency Dispatch Center in the Sharon region, MDA confirmed.

MDA, United Hatzalah attend scene, provide medical aid

Firefighting and rescue teams, including those from MDA and United Hatzalah, brought the fire under control, kept it from spreading through the building, and searched the premises thoroughly to confirm everyone had been evacuated safely.

The source of the outbreak remains under investigation by IFRA.
