Yashar Party chief Gadi Eisenkot keeps climbing in public surveys after the weekend disclosure of the US-Iran Memorandum of Understanding, whereas Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and ex-premier Naftali Bennett slip backward, according to findings released Tuesday by KAN News.

The survey places Yashar on 21 mandates, Likud on 23 seats and Bennett's Together party on 17 mandates.

Voter reactions appear driven by the newly announced accord and lingering worries over Iran. Fifty-five percent of those polled reject the US-Iran understanding, 18 percent back it and 27 percent remain undecided.

Seventy percent continue to view Iran as a security concern despite the emerging agreement.

The results mark a clear shift from a Maariv poll conducted two weeks earlier that gave Together 22 seats, a five-seat drop that leaves the party 11 mandates below its earlier high point.

Commentators have begun asking whether Bennett might need to reconsider his path and align with Eisenkot.

Speaking to 103FM, Bennett stressed his record as prime minister and education minister, adding that he would do whatever it takes to unseat the current government and would not allow personal pride to interfere.

Eisenkot Preferred to Head Opposition Bloc

When respondents were asked who should lead the opposition in the next election, 32 percent chose Eisenkot compared with 22 percent for Bennett, while 31 percent said neither leader should head the bloc.

Although Likud remains the single largest party with 23 seats, the coalition bloc overall now holds 52 mandates, down from earlier surveys. Parties opposed to Netanyahu together command 57 seats.

Nevertheless, Netanyahu retains an edge on the question of who is most fit to serve as prime minister, drawing 41 percent support against 33 percent for Eisenkot, with 26 percent saying neither candidate is suitable.
