Israeli soccer talent Daniel Peretz completed a permanent transfer to English Football League outfit Southampton, with the club confirming the news on Friday and wrapping up an eventful period for the emerging goalkeeper.

Peretz shared the news via his Instagram account, noting he feels "really happy and excited to sign permanently for the club."

"Big thanks to the club, the board, and the staff for the trust... and for you all the fans that gave me so much love from the first second," Peretz added.

"Now it's time for us all to work hard!" he went on. "Let's go and do it together."

Southampton verified the deal through social media channels, stating "Peretz on a perm" to highlight the permanent nature of the move.

Exact financial terms were not released officially, although the BBC indicated the transfer fee paid to Bayern Munich falls in the range of 7.5 million to 8 million euros.

Peretz faced a challenging year that concluded positively. He was loaned out by Bayern Munich to Hamburg SV seeking regular action, yet found limited opportunities behind Daniel Heuer Fernandes.

After minimal involvement at Hamburg, the sides arranged a loan spell for him at Southampton early in the calendar year.

Southampton coach pressured interns to spy on rival clubs

Southampton staff informed an independent disciplinary panel that coach Tonda Ackert applied "extreme pressure" on employees to monitor opposing teams, according to BBC reports from May.

The club faced expulsion from the playoffs after acknowledging surveillance of Oxford United and Ipswich Town sessions during the regular campaign, plus Middlesbrough before the playoff semifinals.

Additionally, four points were removed from their total for the upcoming season.

The disciplinary findings labeled the club's actions a "calculated and determined top-down plan" endorsed by Ackert, supported by WhatsApp exchanges detailed in the arbitration report.

"I didn't really have a choice and wasn't given an opportunity to refuse," one analyst dispatched to watch an Oxford United session ahead of Southampton's December fixture told colleagues. "I was an intern and did what I was told."

The analyst later received a WhatsApp reply stating, "You are a legend. The coach loved it," after sharing the gathered observations with a supervisor.
