Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi declared to world leaders at a BRICS summit on Thursday that his nation is suffering from illegal expansionism and warmongering, even as negotiations to end the ongoing conflict stall.

"It should be evident by now that Iran is unbreakable, growing stronger and more unified under duress," he stated, emphasizing Tehran's readiness to defend its freedom and territory with full force.

Araghchi stressed that Iran is prepared to "pursue and defend diplomacy," noting that it responds in kind to respect. "While our formidable military stands ready to deliver crushing retaliation against invaders, our people cherish peace and avoid conflict. We are the victims here, not the aggressors," he maintained.

He urged BRICS nations to challenge the sense of impunity that the United States assumes, declaring it outdated in the modern era.

Vision for a 'Free, Stable, and Just World'

Speaking on behalf of his citizens, Araghchi described a people enduring intense bombardment yet refusing to yield to fear, holding firm to their aspiration for a free, stable, and just global order.

"Against brutal violence, Iranians have risen with resolve and pride," he continued.

He accused the United States and Israel of justifying assaults on Iran with fabricated assertions from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

"We refuse to abandon our independence to the caprices of imperial forces - we have not, and we never will," he affirmed.

Tehran Lacks 'Trust' in Washington, Araghchi States

The following day, Araghchi remarked that Iran harbors "no trust" in the US and would engage in talks only if Washington demonstrates genuine intent.

Speaking to journalists in New Delhi during the BRICS foreign ministers' meeting, he clarified that all ships may navigate the Strait of Hormuz except those hostile to Tehran, advising coordination with Iranian naval forces.

He described the circumstances surrounding this vital passage as "highly complex."

Since the war with the US and Israel ignited in February, Iran has largely closed the strait - once carrying about one-fifth of global oil and gas - to commercial traffic.

A ceasefire was declared last month by Washington and Tehran, but efforts for a lasting agreement falter. Pakistan-mediated discussions halted last week after mutual rejections of proposals.

"Mixed signals from the Americans have cast doubt on their negotiation sincerity," Araghchi noted, observing that Pakistan's mediation persists amid challenges but has not collapsed.
