Two separate antisemitic attacks occurred in Manchester and London in recent weeks, according to British police reports.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed the arrest of two people linked to an incident where a BB gun was fired at Jewish community members on Monday.

Three individuals sustained minor injuries from shots fired from a passing vehicle. After reviewing extensive CCTV footage, officers identified and detained the suspects on charges of religiously aggravated common assault.

"Threats to our communities will not be tolerated," stated GMP, which continues to increase security measures for Jewish areas in Greater Manchester.

The Campaign Against Antisemitism praised the police response but noted that additional policing funds are not the answer. "Rampant extremism and Jew-hatred must be tackled at source, including the use of a conflict thousands of miles away to inflame hatred here in Britain," the group said.

"Swift justice will be a first step to restoring deterrence for these sorts of crimes. But it is still no substitute for the political and societal leadership that we desperately need to confront the antisemitic and extremist ideologies plaguing this country, with Jews paying the highest cost."

Father and son targeted in separate antisemitic incident

In a distinct case, London's Metropolitan Police are seeking public help to identify the perpetrator of an unprovoked antisemitic attack on a father and his young son in Markfield Park earlier this month.

Officers responded around 5:30 p.m. on July 4 to an assault on a man in his 20s and his three-year-old son. The attacker also issued threats against the victims and the broader Jewish community before fleeing on a red-orange e-bike.

"This was a shocking, unprovoked attack and we know it will cause concern to the local community," said Detective Constable Benny Palmer, who leads the investigation. "We're doing all we can to identify the offender and are asking the public to get in touch with us if they have any relevant information. Across the Met, we are continuing our work to provide visible, intelligence-led and co-ordinated patrols to protect our Jewish communities and keep people safe."
