(RTTNews) - Canada-based Rogers Sugar Inc. (RSI_UN.TO, RSI.TO) confirmed that the primary union group covering most workers at its Montreal refinery has approved a fresh five-year collective agreement.

The facility has roughly 240 unionized staff. The earlier contract with the union, Le Syndicat des Travailleuses et Travailleurs de Sucre Lantic - CSN, reached its end on May 31, 2026.

The firm stated it conducted talks with the union over recent months to finalize the updated collective agreement.

The ratification of this five-year deal marks a favorable result for all parties at the Montreal refinery. We remain dedicated to a steady and efficient workplace, and this pact embodies that common goal, Rogers Chief Executive Mike Walton noted.

The company further anticipates the new agreement will help finalize its LEAP project and reinforce its standing as a supplier in the Canadian food sector.

On the Toronto Stock Exchange, Rogers Sugar shares finished Thursday trading 1.17 percent higher at C$6.91.
