(RTTNews) - NEC Corp. (6701.T, NIPNF), a Japanese information technology and electronics company, announced on Wednesday that net income rose during the first quarter from the prior year. The firm trimmed its revenue outlook while lifting projections for adjusted operating profit, adjusted net income and earnings per share in fiscal 2027.

Net profit attributable to owners of the parent climbed to 49.70 billion yen in the quarter from 19.31 billion yen a year earlier.

Earnings per share reached 37.47 yen compared with 14.49 yen in the same period last year.

Adjusted net profit attributable to owners of the parent advanced to 60.88 billion yen from 22.28 billion yen previously.

Adjusted earnings per share stood at 45.90 yen versus 16.72 yen last year.

Operating profit surged to 58.77 billion yen from 35.39 billion yen in the year-ago quarter.

Revenue grew to 819.78 billion yen from 715.67 billion yen a year earlier.

For the full year 2027 the company now projects revenue of 3.54 trillion yen, down from its prior forecast of 3.58 trillion yen.

Adjusted operating profit is expected to reach 430 billion yen, an increase from the earlier target of 420 billion yen.

Adjusted net profit attributable to owners is forecast at 290 billion yen versus the previous outlook of 280 billion yen, while adjusted earnings per share are seen at 218.65 yen compared with 214.88 yen before.

NEC shares finished 2.74 percent higher at JPY 4,613 on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
