(RTTNews) - National Grid plc (NGG, NG.L, NNGF.DE), the UK electricity and gas utility, reported Thursday a profit gain for fiscal 2026 despite lower revenues. The company also boosted its dividend, provided FY27 guidance projecting underlying earnings per share growth, and reaffirmed its five-year financial framework.

For fiscal 2026, profit before tax rose 15 percent to 4.18 billion pounds, up from 3.65 billion pounds the previous year. Earnings per share from continuing operations reached 65.5 pence, a 9 percent increase from 60.0 pence last year.

Underlying profit before tax stood at 4.49 billion pounds, compared with 4.07 billion pounds a year earlier. Underlying earnings per share climbed to 78.0 pence, marking a 6 percent gain from 73.3 pence in the prior year.

Adjusted earnings per share from continuing operations came in at 58.5 pence, versus 55.6 pence last year.

Underlying operating profit increased 6 percent year-over-year to 5.68 billion pounds.

Revenue for the year fell to 17.687 billion pounds from 18.378 billion pounds the year before.

The Board of Directors proposed a final dividend of 32.14 pence for fiscal 2026, payable on July 23 to shareholders on record as of May 29. This brings the full-year dividend to 48.49 pence, a 3.8 percent rise from the previous year.

For fiscal 2027, National Grid anticipates robust Group performance, with underlying earnings per share projected to grow 13-15 percent from the 2025/26 baseline of 78.0 pence. This reflects increased allowed revenue as it advances from RIIO-T2 to RIIO-T3.

Across the five years from 2026/27 to 2030/31, the company expects underlying earnings per share to achieve a compound annual growth rate of 8-10 percent from the 2025/26 baseline of 78.0 pence, better matching asset growth.

Total cumulative capital investment, as outlined in March, remains targeted at a minimum of 70 billion pounds across UK and US regulated energy networks and related businesses.
