Consumer Price Index figures released in mid-July showed inflation declining 0.4 percent during June and rising 3.5 percent on an annual basis, marking the steepest monthly drop since April 2020. For Bitcoin holders who remain well below the peak reached in late 2025, the report provided welcome relief.

A single data release will not by itself launch a fresh crypto rally. Still, the numbers represent progress toward conditions that historically support such advances, prompting a closer examination of potential market effects.

How liquidity shifts influence market direction

Past crypto rallies have coincided with central banks, particularly the Federal Reserve, expanding liquidity or signaling near-term plans to do so. Inflation therefore serves as a key threshold, since policymakers are reluctant to ease rates while readings remain distant from the 2 percent goal.

June's results at minimum indicate inflation could be heading in a constructive direction.

Core CPI, which strips out food and energy, registered 2.6 percent year over year and showed no change from the prior month, pointing to genuine progress. Yet the temporary drop in gasoline prices tied to an earlier U.S.-Iran agreement has already reversed, suggesting July data may erase some of the recent gains.

Investors weighing additional purchases should note that Fed Chair Kevin Warsh will likely require several consecutive favorable reports before adjusting policy.

Which assets might drive the next upswing?

Bitcoin's current downturn has lasted roughly eight months.

Comparable cycles in 2018 and 2022 each spanned about a year. Based on the typical four-year pattern, a trough near October or November remains plausible.

An upturn for Bitcoin in autumn or early winter would align with historical timing. As new cycles begin, familiar leadership patterns tend to reappear.

Bitcoin usually absorbs the largest share of liquidity, ETF inflows, and institutional capital. Ethereum and Solana typically follow within weeks as their smart-contract platforms attract subsequent waves of institutional interest.

Smaller tokens tend to advance later, if they advance at all, placing them lower in long-term portfolios. Many may not warrant purchases at present.

Patience remains the prudent approach. Accumulate Bitcoin gradually, retain reserves for any final bear-market declines, and monitor inflation trends. Should rate reductions appear likely within the next quarter, the next advance could begin ahead of those cuts.

Evaluating Bitcoin exposure at this stage

Before adding to Bitcoin positions, consider the broader picture.

Analysts have highlighted ten equities they view as especially attractive for the period ahead, and Bitcoin is not among them. Those ten selections could deliver substantial gains over coming years.

Historical examples include Netflix added to the list in December 2004, where a 1,000 dollar investment would now be worth far more, and Nvidia added in April 2005, where the same sum would likewise have grown dramatically.
