Not only does Joby lead operationally, but its strategy also offers greater appeal. The company aims for full vertical integration, producing components in-house and running an air-taxi network akin to Uber. Archer takes a contrasting path, partnering with trusted vendors like Molicel for batteries and Honeywell for other components. Such outsourcing may accelerate near-term progress but limits oversight of the supply chain.

Investing in either involves substantial uncertainty, with no assurance that eVTOLs will dominate urban air mobility. For bold investors eyeing the dawn of flying taxis, however, Joby-s integrated approach makes it the smarter long-term bet.
