The Ethereum Foundation, a nonprofit backing the Ethereum network and guided by co-founder Vitalik Buterin, revealed plans last week to slash its budget by 40 percent and trim staff by 20 percent in a strategic overhaul. For current holders or those eyeing a purchase during the dip, the core question is whether this shift signals a struggling network or a calculated step toward sustained progress. My view leans toward the latter, though certain factors merit attention.

Adjustments Underway at the Ethereum Foundation

The Ethereum Foundation is streamlining into a more focused entity centered on maintaining blockchain security, scalability, usability, and independent governance. Initiatives include greater use of artificial intelligence and fewer large-scale events. Historically, the foundation has led key upgrades and influenced network strategy.
