Of the five, Alphabet emerges as the strongest candidate for July. Recent softness since early May contributes to the case, yet the core attraction lies in its central position within internet access.

Statcounter data shows Google Search holding a 91% share, Gmail leading email usage worldwide, and Android running on roughly 70% of mobile devices. These platforms, along with YouTube, generate more than 80% of revenue and most profits.

Alphabet enjoys a favorable setup. Core operations produce steady cash flow while a new growth area expands without excessive spending. Cloud revenue rose 63% year over year in the latest quarter, lifting operating income more than threefold once scale improved.

Further progress lies ahead. The company now designs its own AI chips through contract manufacturers for cloud clients and internal use, including traffic forecasting and powering the Gemini assistant via in-house TPUs.

Gemini continues to gain ground against ChatGPT. Although still trailing, the ability to enter a market with an established leader is notable and points to future competitiveness as chatbots become standard interfaces. Precedence Research projects the global chatbot market will expand at nearly 19% annually through 2035.

Leading choice among Dow growth names

The remaining four holdings, including Coca-Cola and American Express, remain sound. Chevron also presents an opportunity following its pullback tied to softer oil prices.

For investors limited to one growth blue chip, Alphabet currently ranks as the most overlooked and reasonably valued option in its category.

Wall Street analysts largely rate the stock a strong buy, with an average price target of $435.83 implying 20% upside from recent levels. That provides a constructive starting point.
