(RTTNews) - Swedish real estate firm Fastighets AB Balder (BALDF) announced on Tuesday a decline in first-half earnings even though rental revenue expanded.

Over the six-month period, net profit after tax for the parent company's owners reached 2.83 billion Swedish kronor, compared with 3.46 billion kronor a year earlier. Earnings per share slipped to 2.40 kronor from 2.91 kronor.

Property management profit for the half-year fell to 3.00 billion kronor from 3.39 billion kronor in the prior year. The portion attributable to parent shareholders totaled 2.78 billion kronor, down from 3.16 billion kronor.

Property management profit per share decreased 11 percent to 2.36 kronor from 2.65 kronor. Excluding Balder's share of Norion Bank's property management result, the metric rose 3 percent.

Rental income, by contrast, advanced to 7.03 billion kronor from 6.83 billion kronor.
