The Walt Disney Company and TikTok announced a partnership on Wednesday that enables content creators to produce short videos incorporating characters from Disney properties including Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars.

This content will appear on both TikTok and Vert, a vertical video section within the Disney+ app, as part of what is called a pioneering global agreement.

A trial phase for these videos is set to begin soon and will later expand to additional regions. Creators on TikTok will gain entry to an extensive collection of Disney material, encompassing hundreds of movies and television series.

Asad Ayaz, Disney's chief marketing and brand officer, stated in the announcement that the collaboration provides "creators a bigger stage to share what they've made, and audiences more to discover on Disney+ every day."

The agreement underscores the rising role of user-generated material in the entertainment industry. Disney had previously entered a licensing arrangement with OpenAI last year, permitting Sora AI video app users to generate videos with Disney characters, though OpenAI discontinued Sora earlier this year.
