(RTTNews) - British mining firm Anglo American PLC (AAL.L, AAUKY.PK) posted a smaller first-half loss on Thursday, supported by revenue growth that stemmed largely from stronger output at De Beers and Manganese. The company also kept its fiscal 2026 production targets unchanged.

In London trading, shares stood at 3,605.00 pence, rising 0.08 percent.

Loss attributable to equity holders narrowed to $858 million in the first half from $1.88 billion a year earlier. Loss per share improved to $0.80 from $1.58 previously.

The outcome reflected chiefly a lower carrying value assigned to the Steelmaking Coal business under agreed sale terms.

Basic underlying earnings per share jumped to $0.58 from $0.15 last year. On a continuing-operations basis, the figure reached $0.77 versus $0.32 a year ago.

Underlying EBITDA from continuing operations climbed 35 percent to $4.00 billion from $2.96 billion.

EBITDA margin expanded to 38 percent from 32 percent.

Revenue from continuing operations rose 11 percent to $9.93 billion from $8.95 billion.

Production volumes advanced 6 percent on a copper-equivalent basis, lifted by gains at De Beers and Manganese.

Copper output from continuing operations edged higher to 344 kt from 342 kt.

Premium iron ore slipped 2 percent to 30.6 Mt, while Manganese ore surged 52 percent to 1,667 kt and diamond production increased 46 percent to 14.9 Mct.

The Board approved an interim dividend of $0.23 per share, up sharply from $0.07 a year earlier.

For fiscal 2026, the group continues to target copper output of 700-760 thousand tons, premium iron ore of 55-59 million tons, and diamond production of 21-26 million carats.

CEO Duncan Wanblad stated that the company remains on course for its next transformation phase and expressed confidence in unlocking full portfolio value ahead of the planned combination with Teck.

Anglo American noted ongoing work on European Commission antitrust clearance for the Nickel business sale and progress on the De Beers divestment alongside cost-efficiency measures.
