(RTTNews) - Ahold Delhaize N.V. (ADRND.PK, AHODF.PK, AD.AS), a Dutch food retail and wholesale holding company, announced Wednesday a reduction in net earnings for the second quarter. This came alongside a minor decrease in underlying EBITDA, even though net sales showed a slight increase. Additionally, the firm reaffirmed its guidance for the full fiscal year 2026.

Net income for the quarter reached 526 million euros, representing a 4.2 percent decrease from 548 million euros in the previous year. Earnings per share stayed unchanged at 0.60 euro.

Underlying income per share fell to 0.63 euro from 0.65 euro in the prior period.

Underlying EBITDA amounted to 1.795 billion euros, a 0.6 percent decline from 1.806 billion euros the year before. The underlying EBITDA margin stood at 7.7 percent versus 7.8 percent previously.

Net sales increased marginally by 0.3 percent to 23.165 billion euros compared to 23.092 billion euros last year. At constant currency rates, sales rose 1.9 percent, and comparable sales growth excluding gasoline was 1.2 percent.

In the U.S., Ahold Delhaize recorded an 0.8 percent rise in comparable sales excluding gasoline.

The company also declared an interim dividend for 2026 of 0.51 euro, unchanged from the prior year.

Looking to the 53-week fiscal 2026, the company maintains its forecast for mid- to high-single-digit growth in underlying earnings per share at constant exchange rates, along with an underlying operating margin near 4 percent.

During fiscal 2025, underlying earnings per share came in at 2.67 euros with an underlying operating margin of 4 percent.
