Aeromexico plans to roll out Honeywell Aerospace's Surface Alerts or SURF-A runway safety solution across its full Boeing 737 NG and 737 MAX aircraft lineup.

The initiative is projected to include more than 100 aircraft in total.

FAA certification for SURF-A on multiple Boeing models is scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter of 2026 and extend into 2027.

Aeromexico aims to serve as the launch customer for SURF-A to strengthen overall flight safety standards.

SURF-A supplies pilots with immediate aural and visual warnings whenever an aircraft approaches a potential runway collision with another plane.

The system relies on GPS positioning, ADS-B equipment, and software analytics to issue alerts roughly 30 and 15 seconds ahead of any possible impact.

The capability is offered as a software upgrade to the existing EGPWS and TCAS installations already present on Aeromexico's 737 fleet.

Honeywell Aerospace shares finished 1.56 percent higher at 211.63 dollars on Nasdaq and advanced an extra 0.65 percent to 213 dollars during after-hours trading.
