The Court determined that Natsoft's patents described general concepts instead of concrete technical solutions.

Hexaware Technologies Limited (NSE: HEXT), a global provider of IT solutions and services, announced today that on June 9, 2026, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois dismissed all claims in the complaint filed by Natsoft Corporation and its affiliate, Updraft, LLC, against Hexaware Technologies Limited and its subsidiary, Hexaware Technologies Inc. The ruling covers patent infringement allegations involving nine patents from two separate families.

The decision centered on a key flaw in Natsoft's patents. The Court concluded that the patents covered broad, abstract ideas without describing any particular invention, rendering them ineligible for protection under U.S. patent law. This ruling addressed the scope and validity of the asserted patents rather than any aspect of Hexaware's own technology. With the federal claims dismissed, the Court chose not to keep jurisdiction over the accompanying state-law claims and dismissed those as well. Plaintiffs received permission to submit an amended complaint with a new federal claim; otherwise, final judgment is expected.

The inventions claimed by Natsoft were deemed too abstract for patent eligibility. Hexaware's platforms, by comparison, rest on detailed engineering work, extensive internal research and development, and major financial commitments. This level of specificity has enabled Hexaware to secure its own U.S. patents covering methods used in its Amaze and Tensai platforms, along with another related to Tensai that was recently approved and is set to issue.

"These platforms resulted from our internal research and the sustained efforts of our engineering teams. The Court recognized that Natsoft's claims lacked the specificity required for patent protection, while Hexaware's own patents reflect work that is concrete and original. Clients remained supportive throughout, and we will continue to justify that confidence. Should the case proceed in any form, our position will remain unchanged."

The platforms referenced in the suit - Amaze, Tensai, and RapidX - stem from original development and substantial investment. Hexaware maintains that these offerings do not infringe any intellectual property held by Natsoft or other parties. The company described the lawsuit as without merit at the time of filing and anticipated a favorable outcome, which aligns with the December 2025 motion to dismiss.

The litigation produced no meaningful impact on operations, customer service, partner relationships, or financial standing, and none is expected going forward.
