The signing event included H.E. Mr. Mazen Al-Salhani, Chairman of the Syrian Sovereign Fund, Mr. Basel Ayyoub, Head of the Food and Feed Sector at the Syrian Sovereign Fund, Mr. Hashem Shashaa, Country Manager of Tiryaki Syria, along with legal and finance representatives from the Fund.

The planned facility is set to function as a central industrial center supporting Syria's edible oil, food, feed, poultry, and livestock industries. Through this partnership, the site aims to handle roughly 300,000 tonnes of soybeans and 100,000 tonnes of sunflower seeds each year, equating to an estimated annual processing value of about USD 500 million. This capacity is projected to play a major role in bolstering national food security, expanding local agricultural output, and fostering integrated supply chains.

Drawing on over 60 years of global expertise in logistics, sourcing, operations, and agricultural value chain development, Tiryaki Agro will provide its technical knowledge and operational skills to ensure smooth facility operations.

Human capital development forms a central element of the agreement. Syrian nationals are anticipated to comprise at least 75 percent of the workforce across technical and managerial roles. Tiryaki plans to roll out organized training initiatives to equip local staff with the skills needed to run, oversee, and commercialize operations independently in the future.

The pact spans a 10-year operational term and embodies a mutual commitment to developing enduring industrial strength, generating sustained economic benefits, and expanding job opportunities within Syria.
