This significant donation marks the initial major philanthropic support for TGH Brooksville following its integration into Tampa General's academic health system in 2023.

The Tampa General Hospital Foundation has obtained a major $5 million contribution from philanthropists Frank and Carol Morsani to upgrade emergency services at TGH Brooksville.

This represents the first substantial donation for the area since TGH Brooksville, TGH Spring Hill and TGH Crystal River became part of Tampa General's nonprofit academic health system within the Community and Specialty Hospital division.

"We hold an ambitious outlook for TGH Brooksville's development, and a vital element in achieving it involves harnessing significant philanthropic support," said John Couris, president and CEO of Florida Health Sciences Center | Tampa General. "Through collaboration with dedicated donors like Frank and Carol who align with our dedication to superior standards, we can foster real progress, broaden care availability and deliver advanced health solutions to communities that require them most."

The Morsanis have resided in Brooksville for an extended period and aim to encourage additional investments in TGH Brooksville and TGH Spring Hill hospitals, enabling more local residents to receive necessary care near their homes.

"Carol and I decided to back TGH Brooksville because quality healthcare transforms lives and bolsters our community," Frank Morsani said. "We anticipate this contribution will promote innovation, assist caregivers and provide hope along with healing for future generations."

Tampa General's operations in Hernando County have expanded resident access to the state's leading health system.

The donation will drive upcoming advancements at TGH Brooksville.
