Rosina's 2026 Pasta Night Report highlights U.S. pasta habits before National Pasta Day, with the Buffalo company giving 112,000 servings to a local food bank.

/PRNewswire/ - That pasta meal earning praise at the table might have a one-in-three chance of coming straight from the freezer. Rosina Food Products' 2026 Pasta Night Report shows 34% of Americans have served store-bought frozen filled pasta while allowing others to assume it was homemade.

"In our Italian family tradition, making pasta from scratch involved flour on the table, hours of work and Nonna Rose guiding each part," said Andrea Corigliano Augustyn, a third-generation family member and corporate brands manager at Rosina Food Products. "We value that heritage, yet it is not practical for hectic evenings. Often dinner begins with frozen tortellini and sauce from a jar. The key is finding time to gather and enjoy a meal together."

Before National Pasta Day on October 17, Rosina, producer of Celentano and Italian Village frozen filled pasta, polled 1,009 U.S. adults on their pasta routines. Key results include:

Freezer saves the day: 62% note frozen pasta eases busy weeknights, 47% keep it on hand at all times and 32% treat frozen filled pasta as a weekly staple.
Classic dishes lead: Spaghetti ranks first at 40%, followed by stuffed shells at 15% and ravioli at 14%. Meatballs come to mind for 68% when planning pasta night.
Filling preferences: 49% favor cheese-stuffed pasta while 51% choose classic styles.
Top sauces: 44% pick marinara, with Alfredo at 31% and vodka sauce at 8%.
Ketchup out: 86% say ketchup does not belong on pasta.

"Filled pasta handles much of the effort," said Brian Muscarella, corporate chef at Rosina. "A bit of browned butter, fresh herbs or a touch of pesto can make a package of ravioli feel like a special dish even on a weeknight."

Supporting Tables Across Western New York

To mark National Pasta Day and Italian American Heritage Month, Rosina is giving 40,536 pounds of Celentano tortellini and ravioli, equal to about 112,000 servings, to FeedMore WNY, the food bank serving Buffalo. The items appear in stores nationwide.

"As holidays near, securing enough food becomes harder for many households," Corigliano said. "Helping neighbors has been central to our values for 63 years. We are glad to supply meals to local families and add comfort during this season."

The gift continues Rosina's history of aiding area residents. Earlier in March the firm donated 4,400 pounds of frozen meatballs, or 552,000 meatballs providing roughly 100,800 meals, to FeedMore WNY for National Meatball Day.

About the Rosina 2026 Pasta Night Report

The findings come from a September 2026 online poll of 1,009 U.S. adults who ate or made pasta in the prior three months. It captures national views on pasta use, tastes and ideas. Participants came from TapResearch's consumer panel, with results adjusted to match U.S. Census age patterns.
