CONWAY - New Hampshire ski resorts posted their fourth best season in the past two decades last winter because of classic cold temperatures plentiful snow and few warming spells or rain events.

Snow tubing at alpine locations showed particularly strong gains.

Alpine skier visits rose five percent compared with the prior year according to figures from Ski New Hampshire the statewide group that represents more than thirty alpine and Nordic centers.

Member alpine areas tallied 2,283,539 skier visits for the 2025/26 season. Only the winters of 2010/11 2000/01 and 2007/08 produced higher totals.

Many skiers enjoyed more days of good snow conditions than in recent years which encouraged additional visits. Weather patterns proved highly favorable industry members noted.

Early season snow and reliable snowmaking temperatures across the Northeast helped New Hampshire resorts build a solid durable base that delivered excellent conditions all winter said Jessyca Keeler president of Ski NH.

Continued spending on snowmaking grooming lifts and guest services further supported the rise in skier visits across the state she added.

Industry members met for their annual conference and trade show at Bretton Woods.

Cross country ski reports are still incomplete but early numbers from centers that report consistently show mixed results Keeler said.

Some Nordic locations saw large increases while others recorded similar drops.

Snow tubing operations statewide enjoyed a standout winter.

Ellen Chandler of Jackson Ski Touring Foundation reported visits near the ten year average yet the best in five years with revenue higher than before.

Ski NH members operating tubing hills recorded 125,314 visits a twenty one percent jump from the previous season.

Nearly half of the areas supplying tubing data posted year over year gains above thirty percent.

The 2025/26 season ranks as the second best tubing season since Ski NH began tracking visits in 1997/98.

These strong tubing figures show rising interest in winter activities beyond skiing and snowboarding Keeler noted. Tubing remains an easy and enjoyable option for families and new visitors to enjoy winter in New Hampshire.
